To be clear, I don't use a list of DNS suffixes, I use the option above
that (in the DNS tab of Advanced Properties, of TCP/IP properties, of
the LAN connection), the option is called "Append primary and connection
specific DNS suffixes".

Below those is the "DNS suffix for this connection", which I had as
blank, and the information shown by 'ipconfig' does have the correct DNS
suffix.

So that doesn't seem to be part of the problem.

I'll have to see if GetNetworkParams() is being used, and if DomainName
has the correct value, and if it is used for searching when no other
source of the domain suffix is available.
