less critical but still not working completly: pkgconfig does not
work as it is not fully integrated into the build system. i had
to add this to Makefile.am and rerun automake, aclocal and
autoconf
pkgconfigdir = $(libdir)/pkgconfig
pkgconfig_DATA = libcares.pc
could you please add that?
